6 april 2011 a summery evening

city forest

...intense sunlight reflected from the west wall of a building... long shadows on a lawn... picnickers slowly leaving... runners pass at various speeds... and the trees seem absolutely still as leaves and pine needles move no more than millimetres... the ground seems still but each element in view is surely undergoing invisible change at this occurrence of warm weather... or vibrations from afar... and deep within....

...the patterns of trees branches twigs and leaves is not easy to describe... a man smiles as i look up and see he's looking at me in a friendly way... a solitary crow stands looking this way... and now it turns to look in other directions... slight wind from south... the lawn is almost empty now as birds and tiny children stand and walk about as if that's all there is to do, no purpose of importance...

...and perhaps there is not special value to the things, the all, we see and hear and act within and do... deciding these, the actions that take one this way or that... according to a changing mix of wish and outer influence...

...the evening ends, the lawn's in shadow, the light gets less but always there is choice of what to do... or not...
