prologue to an unfolding social fiction
evident as hypertext if you visit all the links
(the writer is surprised to find that the imaginary or fictional things are not characters and lives but conditions and forms!)
the fiction of people and technologies becoming integrative culture in the presence of these conferences as ways of living without the fictions of hierarchy and specialised roles... and without the profound but static realism of those of us who see them as permanent.
I suppose we are always at the crossroads, or at the edge of the wilderness, though we may seem to be inside the city wall?... But all these are fictions.
