25 may 2006 beyond description

17:19 ...under a group of trees, copper beech and others... the leaves on the outside of the tree above me are purple but those within, hidden from the sun, are green... i am writing on a lightweight folding stool - a gift from someone who hopes it will enable me to sit and write on the handheld in places where there are no public seats... or when the seats are wet...

...i walked here beneath many trees and amidst much undergrowth, and gorse, tall spears of grass, amazed at the new growth since i walked here a few days ago...

...this afternoon is warm and sunny, after days of grey clouds and winds, and rainstorms... and now, with the ground wet and the sun shining, everything is growing fast and summertime has begun...

...outdoor cafe... the same sunny afternoon as in the woods, but here, beside well considered architecture, in a designed landscape of planted trees, lawns, and flowering bushes, and carefully chosen tables, chairs and menu, i recognise some attraction in this expensive ease that does not exist in the forest, in 'nature unimproved'...

...evening, Meta Dachinger seat:
in no hurry to leave the heath this evening... the air is still... insects are about... leaves and stalks are growing almost visibly... swallows or swifts zig-zag above the trees... runners pass every few minutes... others walk and talk without seeming to look at their surroundings (but are perhaps aware of them)... a small bird sings close by but i cannot see it...

...the existence of everything is marvellous beyond description or expectation, beyond these words, the reality of life, even death, from each leaf (or each thought) to each life (or each moment of any kind)... barely wishing to move, i get up and walk on...
